Opening Commentary
I saw it featured in another review, that someone said excedrin migraine is not for children or teenagers. This reason is because aspirin is supposedly related to reyes syndrome, or whatever. I am 18, and have used many aspirin products for my migraine headaches for awhile now.
Anyway, I went to a doctor a few years back, and he recommended some aspirin products for my migraines. My mom expressed her fears of reyes syndrome, and the doctor didn't seem to have any. He then told us that newer studies show that aspirin really might not have anything at all to do with reyes syndrome.
So simply put, this product can be safe for teenagers to take. Just as long as you are careul not to over dose on it. Follow the rules and take precautions, as with dealing with any drug, over the counter or prescribed.
Just Another Name To The Same Old Product
Excedrin Migraine, the newest product, or a older product with a newer name? Being the person that I am, I am very careful when trying medicines to get rid of my severe headaches. After trying excedrin(regular) one day, I noticed it didn't work. Later on, my parents went and bought me excedrin migraine, I tried it, and this too didn't work. Wondering why, I compared the bottles of excedrin migraine, and excedrin(regular), only to discover they were the same thing! Dosage levels were the same, amount of caffiene, aspirin, and acephetomine(however you spell it) were also the same. I thought, what a waste, the same product, different name.
Beware
People seem to think that because it has caffeine in it, it works better. What they don't know, is that it can be working worse. Caffeine is a methamphetamine, which is a very addicting drug. Long term exposure to caffeine can be a major cause of migraine headaches.
For instance, for those who drink regular coffee, probably get headaches if they miss their cup of coffee one day. This is because of the caffeine. Once you get caffeine into your system, headache's gone. Which is probably why excedrin works for some people, is because it gives them their fix of caffeine(120 mg's of caffeine is equal to one cup of coffee).
The people that have migraine headaches now, even though they didn't before, might check into how much caffeine they take in on a regular basis. If it's taken in everyday, or every other day, then you might want to cut back. You could be addicted to caffeine, which could explain your migraine headaches. In which case, the best thing to do is to totally pull caffeine from your diet for a week or 2 weeks, so your body can clear itself. You will have to suffer through 2-3 days of a migraine headache, but the end result is well worth it(not having migraine headaches anymore, being less cranky if you don't get caffeine, etc).
Final Thoughts
If you're careful, and watch your intake, you won't need to buy these pills. For those who have migraines as a result of inheritance, there are other medicines that work better. Also, there are other, natural ways to keep away the migraine headaches. Stay away from excedrin migraine, it's just a scam.
