Pros: Consistently friendly service, lots of perks (free brewsky anyone?), free long distance.
Cons: The pool is sort of small. But nice. No real negatives to be honest.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. 60 minutes of free long distance, free popcorn, softdrinks, cocktails. Great location. Clean rooms. Firm mattresses. Easily earns five Epinions stars!

| kevlog's Full Review: Drury Inn and Suites Frankenmuth |
I must admit that I had never even heard of Drury Inns before last Friday. We don't have them here in the Boston area, but now that I've stayed at one I wish we had them in the Northeast. For around 120 dollars we had a spacious suite (separate living room area with comfy sleeper sofa, recliner, a second TV), two Queen sized beds, a fridge already stocked with soft drinks, a microwave (they even provided a package of popcorn!) and A/C that worked like a charm in the oppressive heat. And if the firm mattress and clean room weren't enough to keep us happy, they handed us a card when we checked in that entitled us to not one but THREE free cocktails or soft drinks in the lobby during the 5:30 happy hour. Pretzels and nachos and salsa are also there for your enjoyment, as is freshly popped popcorn. I didn't have all three drinks but I did enjoy a couple of Bud Lights and a bowl of pretzels before we headed off on our walk to Frankenmuth's famous Bavarian Inn for a family style chicken dinner. Wine was also an option.
If you have to make a long-distance call, go ahead. The Inn gives all of its guests 60 minutes of free long distance calling. I've never stayed at a place that offered this.
The continental breakfast is smokin' hot! Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, juice, coffee, and friendly staff made it hearty and enjoyable.
Getting back to the rooms, the mattresses were firm and I slept like a baby in spite of the softball tournament folks who were taking up most of the Inn. Hair dryers and ironing boards are standard in all rooms. Our room, 115, was a ten second walk to the indoor pool and whirlpool. I usually enjoy a nice soak in the hot tub but with 95 degree temps outside I skipped it. The pool is small but adequate.
The hotel is centrally located in downtown Frankenmuth. We were right across from the Frankenmuth Brewery (the original brewery was destroyed by a tornado in '96 but they've rebuilt as a restaurant/brewpub, and some of the old copper kettles are still on display out back. They offer al fresco dining right on the Cass River behind the brewpub, as well as a riverboat ride (45 minute tour). If you stay at the Drury you are also within walking distance of many great shops (pick up some buffalo summer sausage or emu jerky at the sausage shop next door!) as well as Zehnders (famous chicken dinners) and the Bavarian Inn.
Overall, we were thrilled with the Drury Inn. The suite was a nice touch (not all rooms are suites), the staff was consistently friendly, the rate was reasonable, and the location in this tourist town was perfect. I'd stay again in a heartbeat and heartily recommend it.
Thanks for reading...hope you're all well and staying cool. It's sweltering in Boston. My sweat is my constant companion lately. Ick.
Oh, you can get a sense of the Bavarian style of the place at their website...
