| Magick1's Full Review: Dannon Activia Peach Low Fat Yogurt |
You likely have been hearing about my yogurt adventures in recent postings. This one will not be that much different, but it is regarding the Dannon Activia Peach yogurt instead of the Strawberry or the Vanilla offered by Dannon Activia. All of the flavors have been nice and somewhat refreshing and they offer the benefit of helping maintain a regular digestive system with regular use. This flavored version is no different.
The Product
The yogurt cup is a 4 ounce cup of lightly peach colored yogurt. There are little chunks of peach in the yogurt but they are not extremely prevalent, nor are they sparse. It is an ok amount of fruit in the mix. This yogurt cup is rounded except at the top. There is a square cut lid for the cover to fit, I am guessing. But, it does make it a bit easier to hold onto the cup because the tabs on either corner allow you to grab it with your thumb and finger easily!
The containers are a dark green color with the bright blue Dannon logo near the top. They have a small circle near the top left edge with a picture of a belly button and a dotted, downward pointing arrow to signify the regular movement their products hope to have you achieve by eating this yogurt.
The flavor is a nice light peach flavor and it does not seem completely made up flavor. With the bits of peach in the yogurt you feel the flavor is fresher than yogurts with no fruit bits inside. The consistency of the yogurt, to me, is just right. Its not runny and its not super thick either. The yogurt will hold on the tip of a spoon if you dip it into the yogurt and pull the spoon out. The yogurt will not run off the end of the spoon. But, if you scoop up a spoonful of the yogurt, it will drop back into the container if you hold the spoon vertical to the container.
The smell of the yogurt when you first open the container is, to me, more yogurt than the peach. Peach tones trail off after the initial yogurt smell. I dont know if this is the special bifidus regularis they state is in the yogurt. I have tried many types of yogurt and I am not familiar with the scent that came from these package of the Dannon Activia Peach flavored yogurt. The vanilla and the strawberry did not smell like this. Both of those seemed to have the smell of the flavor hit you first rather than last.

Overall Impressions
I enjoy the flavor of this peach yogurt quite a bit. Its not overwhelmingly peachy, but its not so light that you cannot taste the peach flavor at all. The color is what one would expect from peaches, but its sad they have to use other items to provide that color (annatto extract and carrot juice). The thickness is just right for me and the size of the container is great too. It hits the spot without being too much of a good thing.
The appearance is nice with this yogurt too. I dont know if the peaches are not as water-filled as strawberries or what, but I did not notice the separation and curdling as I have with the other yogurts in this collection.
As far as the keeping you regular claims on the yogurt from eating this brand at least once a day, I can say I do feel a bit more normal when I am eating this product daily. When I tend to skip the yogurts (the weekends) I do notice a bit more upheaval in processing items. But, that could be partially due to all of the running and poor eating that I do on the weekends. But, even when I am eating this yogurt regularly during my work day and then if I eat poorly at night, I havent notice a feeling of discontentment at all with my body.
If you like fruit yogurts and want the possible benefit of helping your body perform more regularly, this might be a product you want to try. There are a variety of flavors available in the markets for you to try. If you want more information, though, you can certainly check out their website at www.activia.us.com for other flavors, sizes and general information regarding this product.
