| CNunn's Full Review: Conair Big Curls 1.5" Jumbo Curling Iron Model Cd1... |
I have very, very long straight hair. And, I own numerous curling devices. Thanks to Epinions expanding their products, I am now able to tell you a few things about my hair. I curl my hair often. So, when I want Big Curls I reach for my Conair Big Curls 1.5 Jumbo Curling Iron Model CD150W.
This is a very Large Curling Iron. The Barrel which is the part you put your hair around to curl measure's 1 1/2 inches. It is like the size of an empty paper towel holder for example. It is made out of Aluminum. Which I like as this is not a Heavy Curling Iron.
It is very easy to use the Conair Big Curls Jumbo Curling Iron. I simply plug it in and turn it to the ON position and wait for it to heat up. It has a nice Ready Dot feature that let's you know when it is ready. It only takes about 7 minutes for it to be ready for me. You can wait 8 to 10 as it suggests. But, I always wait until the last minute to curl my hair before I leave the house. So I have it timed to the minute as I am always running a little behind. In 7 minutes it is ready for me.
When I am ready to use my Conair Big Curls 1 1/2 Jumbo Curling Iron. I simply wrap my hair around the Barrel and roll it up to my chin's length. I then hold it for about 30 seconds. It doesn't take long as it get's very HOT. I then release it and I have BIG CURLS.
One of the features I like is the Cool Tip. It is on the end of my curling iron. It helps me to be able to put my fingers on it while rolling my hair up the Barrel. Thus, not letting me get burned and keeping my curling process straight.
When you are finished you simply switch it to the OFF position. I always keep an eye on my curling iron as I don't want my small daughter to get a hold of it. So please use precautions if you have children in the house. It takes about 10 minutes for it to be cooled down, where I can put it back in the cabinet.
It comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Which I have not had to use. I find that it is a well made curling iron. Nothing has broken on it yet. And, it serves my purpose for giving me those Big Curls I so desire sometimes. I love it because it travels well in my bag when I take a trip. It is not real heavy and bulky. It is Bright Red in color, so it is always easy to find.
I paid $12.95 for mine and I think it is worth it's weight in gold. Especially if you have very long hair and want Big Curls. Of course any of you ladies with shorter hair can use it also. Just remember it is 1 1/2 inches around. If I have sprayed my hair with hair spray before I curl it. Sometimes the Barrel can get a little build up on it. I just always make sure it is unplugged and then I use a little soap and water on it, to clean it up. Make sure it is never plugged in and around water when in use.
You can go to www.conair.com if you have any questions or are interested in looking at their products.
I rate Conair Big Curls 1.5 Jumbo Curling Iron Model CD150W a 5. It is the top of the line for me in the Big Curls department. Because, I also own the Vidal Sassoon 1 1/2 inch Curling iron and in my opinion the Conair way out performs it with durability and the results of my curls.
Thank You!
