Pros: durable, reduces styling to one step

The Bottom Line: In ten years, I've tried different blow dryers, curling irons, and hot rollers, always to come back to this product. It's just that great.

I actually happened upon this product in the Epinions database on a whim; I wanted to see if Conair was still making anything like it, as mine is now on its last legs. Imagine my surprise to see that it's still on the market in the same configuration as it was when I bought mine ten years ago! Guess what went on my Amazon wishlist tonight?
~&~ The Basics ~&~
The Conair 1-1/2-Inch Hot Air Curling Combois basically a combination blow dryer/curling brush/curling iron. Included in the set is the base unit, and then two interchangeable top sections: the curling iron barrel, and the curling brush barrel. To change them out, simply turn the ring on the top of the base from "Lock" to "Open," pull off the attachment, place the other on, and then twist the ring back to "Lock."
The Conair 1-1/2-Inch Hot Air Curling Combo has two heat settings: "Lo" and "Hi" which adjust with a large slider on the base unit. Both the curling iron and the curling brush attachments have large slots in the barrels that the hot air passes out of, and both have a plastic tip at the end of the metal barrel that doesn't heat up for holding the end while curling your hair.
~&~ How Well Does It Work? ~&~
I have to admit that my sister seems to have gotten all the girlie-girl genes in our family, and I never did get then hang of blow-drying my hair with a round brush for a nice effect. The Conair 1-1/2-Inch Hot Air Curling Combo takes away years of hair angst for me by reducing styling to just one step. I can use either the curling iron or the curling brush attachment and curl my hair while I'm blow-drying it.
The curling iron attachment gives nice, fat curls, while the curling brush attachment gives softer curls. Both work equally well, and the plastic tines on the curling brush attachment are very sturdy; in fact, mine just started breaking this month, and as I said, I've had this item for about ten years now.
What I really like about the Conair 1-1/2-Inch Hot Air Curling Combo is that I don't feel like I'm doing double damage to my hair by blow-drying it and then using a hot curling implement on it. The heat also seems to be less damaging than a standard curling iron or curling brush, and I often use the curling brush to straighten my daughter's curls in the winter.
