| gerper's Full Review: Compound W Liquid |
As some of you may or may not know, I am currently battling a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot. Well, after having no luck with the medicated pad method (Dr. Scholls), I have decided to try the liquid method, and picked up a bottle of Compound W Liquid.
At a cost of $6.50, it isn't cheap, especially since there only .31 ounces in the bottle. However, you only need to put a drop on once or twice day (Compound W recommends twice a day). And of course, it can take up to 12 weeks of continued usage until it disappears.
After the first day of using the Compound W Liquid, I felt a great deal of pain from the wart (but not nearly as bad as when I used a medicated disc). I figured that this was going to be a long and painful process, and that I would just stick with it. Well, within a day, the pain disappeared, and I really didn't have any discomfort.
As I would apply the drop of medicine (with the brush that is attached to the cap), I noticed that the liquid was getting thicker, and more difficult to apply, and it was also sort of "crystalizing". Weird, I thought, but I really didn't worry about it, as there was plenty of liquid in the bottle.
Well, this evening, as I was going to apply my second dosage of the day I noticed that the bottle was completely empty! "What?!", I thought. I was the only person using this, and I always make sure that medicine bottles are tightly closed (since I have a puppy who likes to get into everything). Sure enough, after just four days, the Compound W Liquid completely evaporated and the jar was empty. I checked the instructions to see if perhaps I was doing something wrong, but there was no mention of the medicine drying up. The only thing that I can attribute this to is that when exposed to air, the medicine crystalized and gradually dried up.
Overall, I do not recommend this product to anyone, as it is a complete waste of money. While a wart takes several weeks (even months) to treat a wart, this medicine didn't even last more than a few days. However, I have not given up on Compound W, as this medicine also comes in a "gel" formula, so I am going to give that a try.
