We purchased this crib online based on good reviews we read of it and that fact that it was very affordable. I know that many have rated this crib well, but we consider it a Total lemon and cannot recommend that anyone buy it.
The crib arrived in a slightly banged box, but nothing that you'd reject it for. Our 1st clue that something might go wrong was that it was shipped with No Hardware at all. No bolts, No screws, Nothing. We called the company, and they sent us a complete hardware packet with no additional charges.
The wood was a lovely natural-looking honey gold and was exactly what we wanted for the new nursery. It came with an additional toddler rail for use when (in our case, IF) it is converted to a toddler bed.
The crib was easy to put together as it had a very simple design and easy instructions. Unfortunately, they was so much play in the plastic parts of the crib connection that the crib wobbles unacceptably from back to front. There is very little side to side, so it's clearly the fault of the plastic parts. We were able to adjust the mattress height correctly and move the side up and down with only one hand (& pushing in at the bottom of the side with one knee), but any motion with the crib makes it wobble.
So-o....we took it apart and reassembled it. Same problem -- back-to-front wobble. We called the company. They sent us a new set of hardware Again (Nice folks!). We reassembled it a 3rd time. Same Problem!!!! So, it was just poorly designed plastic parts which came preassembled on the wood sides, and there was nothing we could do to fix it.
By this time, 3 months have past, and our newborn has outgrown the bassinet, AND we had passed the time that we could return the crib for a refund.
Honestly, we couldn't do anything to improve the problem. We put extra metal brackets on it everywhere that didn't need to move, but without compromising the ability to open the side, we could Not improve the wobbling to any point that we would consider acceptable. We finally just bolted the headboard to the wall to stop the wobble. We hate the fact that we're not sure it's safe. Yeah, yeah -- it's got all the necessary safety certifications, but if you've seen a tiny infant wobble a crib by rolling over, you'd be scared, too!!
Bottom line: Spend your money elsewhere & don't take the chance on getting a lemon like this.
