| vamommy's Full Review: Chicco Mamma High Chair |
The Chicco Mamma high chair is our first and only high chair! I chose this high chair based on reviews I read, and have been very pleased with this product.
SAFETY FEATURES:
Safety is one of my main concerns with any baby product. The Chicco Mamma has a 5 point harness to keep your wiggly baby in place (especially if your baby is anything like my baby)! There are shoulder and hip straps on the left and right that meet at a click-in locking mechanism at the crotch. The straps are adjustable so that they grow with the baby. The tray also has a kind of horn on the bottom that creates a t-bar when the tray is in place on the high chair -- yet another feature to keep that baby in his high chair!
OTHER FEATURES:
The Chicco Mamma is very adjustable! The seat can be placed in three different positions -- completely upright, partially reclined and reclined. The height of the high chair can also be adjusted -- it has 6 different height choices.
The high chair easily folds up for storage. It folds in an upright position that is perfect for storage in the corner of my kitchen, so that it is out of the way when not in use. A not on the negative side is that when the high chair is folded, you are supposed to be able to hang the tray on the back of the high chair -- this has never worked well for me, the tray falls off a lot.
Wheels! There are wheels on this highchair! This is such a bonus. I can wheel the baby all over the kitchen and dining area.
One hand tray release. There is a button and a pull handle on the underside, so that the tray can be pulled off or pushed in all with one hand. Very handy (har har, did you get that pun) when you have a baby in your arms.
Vinyl, padded seat. The baby's seat is nicely padded and made of vinyl. The vinyl makes for easy cleaning. The straps can also be removed an easily cleaned. There is also a padded vinyl infant insert in the seat to help give the little babies extra support. My baby has been in the 90th percentile for height since day one, so we have not had any problems with the seat seeming too deep, as other people have mentioned.
Large tray. The tray is very durable and large. There is also a nice sized lip on the tray that helps keep some of the food on the tray when the little one starts smacking the food around. Very easily cleaned.
