Poison Ivy in no fun! If you've ever had a really bad dose of it I know you'll start itching as you read this epinion. It's amazing how much you can actually get just from touching a little leaf and getting some of the oil on your fingers. Everywhere you touch (and I mean everywhere) gets the rash. The more you touch, the more you get but it does seem that each place gets it a little milder that the other.
This past summer I got a respectable dose of poison ivy and was very glad that a friend had recommended Benadryl Itch-Stopping Treatment, Extra Strength. I figured that I would get poison ivy at lease once because I spend a lot of time out in the garden and these little 3 leaf plants seem to come up anywhere when you least expect them.
Sure enough, it wasn't too long into the summer growing season when I first noticed a little discomfort between a couple of my fingers. I knew the signs and went right upstairs and washed thoroughly with dish soap. If you've ever watched those commercials on TV where they put a little Ivory into the sink and it cleans all the greasy pans. Well it works just like that on the oils from poison ivy leaves and that's what you need to do.
Well it seems that I wasn't quick enough because by that afternoon little blisters started to appear. I immediately put on some Benadryl Itch-Stopping Treatment, Extra Strength, and within minutes the itch went almost completely away. For the next several days I applied a coating every morning when I got up and at night before bed. I also put some on each time I washed my hands. Keeping up this practice for 5 days I finally noticed that almost every trace of poison ivy had disappeared.
I really would like to recommend this product tom anyone who thinks they will get poison ivy or just wants to get rid of bothersome itching from insect bites.
