My youngest child is now 15 months old TODAY (Sept. 11, 2001)! Tristan is growing WAY too fast. Where has the time gone? Only yesterday it seems that he was born and we were enjoying the unique closeness our breastfeeding relationship provided. Unfortunately, at 9 months of age, Tristan self-weaned and we started relying on infant formulas to provide a majority of his daily nutritional requirements as recommended by his pediatrician. Once he reached his first birthday and started drinking whole cow's milk, I wasn't very comfortable in discontinuing formula altogether as Tristan was fast becoming a very picky eater. The extra nutrition provided by supplemental toddler formulas gave me the peace of mind that he was indeed getting what he needed on those days he ate very little solid foods.
Most of the time, I purchase either Parents' Choice 2 (a generic toddler formula that may be purchased at local Wal-Mart stores) or Nestle's Carnation Follow-Up Formula as Tristan tolerates both rather well.
