| erin5oaks's Full Review: Atkins Diet Sugar-Free Syrups |
My offices is together trying to get into shape. We are all doing it for different reasons. One person needs to lower her cholesterol, another is on the verge of becoming a diabetic, and ME, I want to get rid of a roll or two around my middle.
At my office we keep a cupboard full of food. We share everything and when one decided to change their eating habits we all did.
My friend who isn't very patient started on the Atkins diet. She bought tons of their products. One of the first she brought to the office was Adkins Sugar-Free Syrup in the Pancake Maple flavor.
We always have frozen waffles in our refrigerator. My friend on the Atkins diet made pancakes from an Atkins mix and put them in a baggie and had them on hand in our freezer. I must admit when I tried this syrup I was disappointed. I was thinking I could have one of my favorite things, which is waffles, but not pay the price with the carbs and calories. I was disappointed with the syrup it was way too watery for my liking.
I was not ready to give up on this product yet. Atkins Sugar-Free Syrup comes in other flavors such as strawberry, vanilla, cherry, chocolate, raspberry, and hazelnut. What could I do with these syrups that would allow me to feel like I was treating myself?
Here are a few of the ways that I used the syrup and LOVED them. I put a drop or two into carbonated water and the taste was wonderful. I am not drinking caffeine and rather feeling short changed when it comes to diet sodas. I can add a couple of drops of cherry, raspberry, or vanilla to a diet sprite or diet seven up and I have a great tasting drink. The hazelnut tastes wonderful in my DEcaffinated coffee. I am having trouble just saying it. I loved my caffeine.
My friend who has a child who is a diabetic has been using this syrup for a long time. One of her favorite ways to use it is to make snow cones for her daughter. She gave me one of my favorite ideas which was flavoring my whipped cream. I love a dollop of whipped cream on just about anything I eat. Now my whipped cream can be strawberry, cherry, hazelnut, or chocolate flavored. I put some on my coffee before I go to bed and I have a real treat.
There is no aspertane in this product instead the sweetner is called sucralose. You can even use this instead of sugar when baking.
You can buy this Atkins produce at Atkins centers or at your local grocery store that carries Atkins products. It comes in a 12 ounce bottle. The bottle says you will get 24 servings. I think this depends on how you use it. If you are using the pancake maple flavor for pancakes it won't last too long. If you are putting a drop or two into your drink it will last forever.
You can pay anywhere from 3.50 (which was on sale) to 6.00 for a bottle. It really is a treat for those of us watching our carbs.
If you use your imagination this is not one product that will just be sitting on your shelf at home not being used.
