Pros: smooth texture, wonderful flavor
Cons: need to add 1 packet of artificial sweetener to top of slice
The Bottom Line: Final recommendation - try it, you'll like it. Even if you have to make it yourself, it's totally worth the time and effort.

| afollmer's Full Review: Atkins Diet Cheesecake |
I have to tell you about the Dr. Atkins diet cheesecake. It's a wonderful food to eat while you're on the Dr. Atkin's diet (don't try this on other diets - while low in carbohydrates, it's not so low in fat).
The first time I had this cheesecake, I made it myself from a recipe that I found in the Dr. Atkins recipe book. I was skeptical at first, but my fears were unfounded.
It's true that this cheesecake is low in carbohydrates, but it's not low in flavor. The sweetness of the dish comes from artificial sweeteners, and the remainder of the ingredients comes from good, wholesome foods - eggs, sour cream, cream cheese - what else could you ask for?
The texture of this dessert is absolutely to die for - rich and creamy, smooth and heavenly. I do have one complaint, though - it needs to be a little sweeter. So, to remedy this, I sprinkled a packet of Equal sweetener on top of the slice, and I was amazed at the results.
In short, this dessert is not just for the Atkins dieter - anyone will enjoy this delectable dish. Whenever I think of cheesecake, this dessert takes the cake!
UPDATE : This cheesecake is as good as it gets - practically 0 carbs, but loaded with flavor. Even after 3 years (when this review was originally written), I wholeheartedly recommend this dessert to anyone!
