Here we go again...trying to find a spot for my epinion on a really good anti-itch lotion called "Respite". They do not have a category for it yet. Two years ago this fall I had an allergy that lasted for nine weeks, then last year I had no problem. Now this year it is back in full force.
My skin will start to itch on different parts of my body; from my back to my toes, from my leg to my fingers. I never know where it will start and it drives me crazy. When I feel the first of it coming on I immediately take a Benadryl tablet for allergies and then I get my bottle of Respite anti-itch lotion out. It is an external analgesic to relieve the itching and pain associated with dry skin, winter-itch, sunburn and insect bites. So - I must have the winter-itch in the fall. As soon as I apply the Respite lotion on any part of my body that is starting to itch, it relieves it in a matter of a minute or less.
It feels very soothing; it feels cool on my skin and it does relieve my symptoms almost immediately.
I had to shop around to find Respite and ended up finding it at a Walgreen drugstore misplaced on a shelf! I was happy.
This lotion comes in a 4.5 fl. oz. white bottle with a blue cap and a blue banner on the front. When I bought it I thought that it was a little pricey, but after using it I knew that I got what I paid for!! The price at Walgreen's was $5.99 for the small bottle.
I carry this bottle everywhere with me because I never know when the itches will start. The instructions say "apply to affected area not more than 3 to 4 times a day". I usually don't have an itch in the same spot more than once a day. It also states: "avoid contact with the eyes". If it persists for more than 7 days, see your doctor. I would highly recommend this lotion because if it helps me so fast, it must help some of the other symptoms just as fast.
