Pros: Portable, inflates/deflates quickly & effortlessly, stores easily, softer than the floor.
Cons: Noisy, medium grade plastic/rubber, short, expensive, deflates slowly overnight.
The Bottom Line: For a quick, portable, and easy to use air mattress for yourself or guests, this does a nice job -- just wished it costed less.

| del-1's Full Review: Aero Raised Aerobed (Twin, Full, Queen) |
*** Overview ***
You've seen this on TV and now in the stores. It's an inflatable air mattress that has been around for years prior to Imaginair's model but the major difference is instead of blowing up the mattress through a tiny beach ball sized valve you get an electric pump. The bed inflates in under a minute and deflates in seconds all without much effort other than pushing a button or releasing a valve and folding up the bed respectively.
Positives
*Instant mattress and a softer surface to sleep on than the floor or sleeping bag in under a minute.
*Rolls up easily and fits in an oversized duffel bag like a sleeping bag.
*Pumps up fast and easy. You can give your lips, mouth, lungs, and diaphragm a rest! Simply plug it in to the wall and push a button.
*Can use standard sheets with the bed (although the fit is loose and poor).
*Clean. It's not going to harbor dust mites or things like that.
Negatives
*It deflates slowly overnight and in fact begins to lose the maximum "firmness" a few seconds after you let go of the pump button.
*Medium grade plastic/rubber makes me worried that it will be punctured sooner or later. They include two patches and glue with the unit.
*Noisy pump. It's not exactly stealth. If your guest is using it, you might hear them pump it up a little if they wake up during the night.
*Noisy bed. The plastic squeaks as you get on it and if you move around. The air on the inside seems to amplify this even more!
*Cost. It's not cheap for any of the various sizes.
*Release valve slightly difficult to engage and slightly difficult to latch.
*Feels short -- legs hang off since you can't have the pillow right at the top edge because of lack of support.
*** Summary ***
I really do like my AeroBed. I've let guests use it and they seem to not have a problem with it. I've recently moved and I'm waiting for my new mattress and have been using it for a week pretty comfortably. I do not like the fact that it loses air slowly. Although, this could be just my unit. MOST of all, I DISLIKE THE COST since you can get some nice mattresses (of course not a name brand like sterns & foster, sealy, etc.) from some stores for only about double the cost of the bed. The difference, obviously, is that a real mattress isn't portable...
I also wouldn't let older people, in particular grandparents use it... seems a little disrespectful, eh? Give up your own bed!
I also bought this off the internet for $129.99 with Free Shipping & Handling. Do a search, it seems cheaper than in the stores.
One last comment: wouldn't it be great if you they made it so you can take the pump OFF? You could then toss it in the swimming pool. How cool would that be?
