Pros: Strong finish with unpredictable arc and reaction
Cons: It's made by AMF and it's not as versatile. AMF says it is!
The Bottom Line: The bottom line is AMF is trying to get back to being competitive and I don't think they are quite there yet!

| paulv's Full Review: AMF Angle Evolution Bowling Ball |
The original Angle from AMF was a urethane ball that had a smooth arc and a very even roll. If my memory serves me right there were four balls in the Angle lines back in the day. It played well on a variety of lane conditions.
Now the new generation of Angle has four balls in the collection. The Angle Evolution, Evolution Reactive, Evolution Tour and the Evolution Extra. All are good balls in the right hand and on the right condition. They all seem to be a little unpredictable to me.
The Angle Evolution has a urn shaped weight block with a cap on top and a ring around the middle. The cover stock is AMF's SPT II which is a particle compound. The other three Angles all have different cover stocks. The cores are a little different also.
The cap on top helps this ball roll quite heavily and the ring in the middle of the core adds extra flip and energy into the pocket. This combination does seem to create very good carry from this ball. The particle cover stock calms the reaction down some what. This is done to give the bowler a little control.
From what I've seen the Angle Evolution is a bit unpredictable and tends to snap to hard if over thrown and to early if under thrown. Predicting the break point is difficult unless you're very accurate and have a very consistent ball speed. Put this ball away if you have medium to dry lane conditions. Don't use this ball if you have flat, heavy and long oil. Ideal lane conditions seem to be a wet/dry lane condition, so this ball has a dry section to get the friction it needs to flip and hook.
It's easy to drill and can be drilled for some lane conditions but it will not be an every day all day ball. Yeah it hits hard yeah it can cover a lot of board with it's hook and yes the cover stock does give you some control but It's AMF..............
You can find more versatile equipment from Brunswick, Hammer or Storm. Unless you like to experiment leave AMF's Angle Evolution in the pro shop.
