Preserve VHS before it's too late

by el_gobierno , Feb 22 '02
Pros: Burn VHS onto CD without a computer--also records music CD's from jacks
Cons: Real-time only; also, don't lose the instructions or remote
The terapin video CD recorder is a real-time MPEG-1 VCD burner which can also record music CD's. The resulting movies are playable on modern DVD players. You do not need a computer to do either of these functions. The machine does not make SuperVCD's or...

TERAPIN Stand-Alone Stands Alone

by masonicman , May 02 '02
Pros: Able to burn audio and visual CD's.
Cons: Hard to figure out how to use it.
I have to start my opinion right off that there are other models out there that do more stuff, but I consider the Teraopticx TERAPIN Stand-Alone CD Video Recorder one of my best purchases ever.

CDV Recorder & Player

by gt-master , Feb 21 '02
Pros: Good unit for price . Good audio and fair video . Good price , Stylish
Cons: Very poor instructions.Slow editing Audio Video Unit is hard to figure out

Pros: Cool idea, Cool looking device
Cons: Bad quality video, annoying controls, problems with media recognicion
first of all it looks kinda weird.. Its modern and stylish, but not for normal living room. For funky party room maybe or for teenager room - yes , that would be a great look.
but who cares about the look? we need features - here they are -...

Great for specialized uses

by yrly , Jan 01 '04
Pros: Produces VCDs, Audio CDs
Cons: somewhat complex to use
The Terapin is a specialized device, for people with specialized needs. This is not something the average person would need to buy for their home theater unless they were going to use it straight up for CD only recording. Why I bought this unit, and why ...
