Allows orders for books which are not available

First time user of this online service, ordered books with fulfillment to be through their partners (small booksellers). After order was placed, received emails from EACH seller that book was not in stock. Received email from Textbooksrus.com saying credit would be applied to credit card. If they have an online business they should make an effort to keep current the inventory listings they are making sales from.

Oh please, y'all are a bunch of haters. It's not Textbooksrus' fault if you ordered the wrong book, didn't buy insurance, etc. I called them twice, once before I ordered and once because I needed to change my address. They picked up on the first ring, and they were very professional. Ordered expedited on a Monday, and my package came on Thursday. Book was exactly as described. Service could not have been better.

Poor customer support. Tried to contact them 3 times, both by e-mail and by phone, and simply got a recorded message "we have high inquiry volumes, please leave a message". After leaving a message, they never got back with me. I have ordered my books over 8 days ago now, they charged my credit card 7 days ago, and my order is still "processing". With my experience, and with that of all the other reviews that I am seeing, stay far away from this company unless you want to get charged for items you will never/take forever to receive.

They charged more than book cover price but with the 99cents shipping, it evens out. My order arrived INCOMPLETE in about a week. I left them an email requesting the missing item. They never reply to the email. Called them directly but no one picked up. Definitely won't ever go back!

TERRIBLE - A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE

This website is the worst I have ever encountered.
They try and fool the buyer into thinking they have working operators, when they don't. You call and get a message saying they have "high call volume" no matter what time of day you call customer service. Once you try and leave a message, the voicemail box is full.
When sending e-mails they never reply. I have sent four e-mails in the past 4 days because my order has been in the "processing phase" forever. They charged my paypal account instantly and I still haven't gotten my order shipped.
I used this vendor because they accepted paypal, but beware everyone!!! The site is a rip! They're out to take your money and there's little you can do to get it back as their return policy is just bad bad as their ordering.

I ordered an "international edition" book listed as "same with standard edition" and found its different content. Tried to request a return but the so-called on-line return process never worked. Called the listed phone phone number 10000 times and emailed both help desk and customer service, left messages... Anyways, they don't care to reply a word! To me this is one of the worst places to shop at (the other one is ValoreBooks) and I suggest those who want to get cheaper books shall think twice before acting.

Just be sure to get the insurance. I sent my books off about three weeks ago and received an email this morning saying that my box arrived without any books in it. Since I didn't have the insurance on the package, there is nothing that I can do. I'm not saying that this company is to blame, it could have been the USPS, but if you are adverse to taking chances then get the insurance.

VERY POOR used book condition

I bought a used book from this site. It's indeed USED. Crappy cover, highlighting inside and MISSING PAGES for some part of Chapter 1!!! I didn't expect it's in like new condition but missing pages is way out of line. so watch out if you are gonna buy a used book from it. well...shipping is pretty fast for priority mail.

So much for all that no-hassle return guarantee! Try calling, and you will never get a human being on the other line. Try emailing and your email gets lost in cyberspace! Try getting the RMA number and the site will never give it to you because their information will never match yours, e.g. address, zip code, etc. even if you are looking at the shipping label they used to send your book. I never had such bad experience with an online bookstore until now. Can anyone tell me how to return the books to this crappy store? Oh by the way, the reason I am returning the book is because the book is just as crappy as their customer service. When I ordered the book, I got the one that is a little more expensive than the others because it didn't say anything about highlighting and writings. Well, there are marks in almost every page. Talk about bad-advertising! Yes, before you order any books from anyone, try calling their customer service first and see if there's anyone breathing on the other line.

Ordered 2 $100 books for class. Paid extra for next day shipping and at checkout it showed a next day delivery time frame. 2 days later I get a tracking number from them. I called them and they said "sorry, but we have a 2-3 day processing time". Needless to say 5 business days later I got the books. They would not refund any shipping saying it was listed plainly on the website. Also the books were listed as "used, very good". One was torn very badly in about 15-20 pages and came with no CD even though it listed one was included. The second book looked like it was dipped in yellow it had so many highlighted pages. If you are in a hurry you need to stay away from this scam artist. They tease you with a 99 cent shipping charge but who can wait 10-12 days for the books. I was lucky I guess as I got mine in 5 days but I did pay for next day. I buy from Ecampus books also. They are slow but don't pull a scam on you. TextbooksRus Sucks

Be leery of customer service

Ordered a college textbook online from them. Price was good. But with 40 minutes of placing order, I realized that I had ordered wrong book.
Called their phone. "All customer services reps are busy, please leave a voicemail" which becomes "All voicemail boxes are full, we will get back to you with 24 hrs."
So I send e-mail to cancel the order. They respond via e-mail at 2:30pm that in order to cancel header in e-mail must say "STOP THIS ORDER." And that the order can't be cancelled as it has already been shipped as of 2:30 pm.
But a check of the FedEx tracking number show that the package was not picked up until 5:11pm. They could have stopped the order, IF it had been possible to make human contact. An RMA was authorized, but now I have to pay 2-way shipping on an order than could have/should have never been shipped.
So I guess that on price and speed they are OK, but customer service is a farce.
My rule from now on is that before I order online I will telephone them and see if a human picks up. If not, I go else where.
