Hefty Has Lost Their Concern With Quality by lpd1 ,Jun 05 '05
Pros: Drawstring is a great concept that initially attracted our attention! Cons: Drawstrings don't work and quality is lacking - - an apparent attempt to cut costs!
Our Family has used this product for years and, assuming the quality had stayed the same, we would have never considered switching. We loved the "older" Hefty products! However, we've noticed a dramatic reduction in quality of the bags and we are now forced to switch to another more durable product even if we must pay more. The drawstrings (which were a big plus) tend to break very easily or are broken when taken from the box (50% on recent purchases) and the bags themselves are seemingly much weaker and some are torn coming from the box. We've noticed a great number of seams that are not sealed on bags when we've pulled them from the box. Don't waste your money - - - - it's very obvious that cost reduction has quickly outpaced quality considerations! We're tired of having to pick garbage off of our kitchen floor. Bottom Line: Hefty has left the door wide open for a rival that pays some attention to more than a first-class marketing program (i.e., a quality product)!
Hefty Cinch Sak disappoints. by mrtraine ,Oct 04 '04
Pros: The drawstring and the packaging stand out Cons: The overall quality of the bags.
After using this product for more than ten years it looks as if I will switching to another brand. Pactiv, the company who makes the bags apparently has made some changes in the past year that do not work. Firstly, they lowered the quantity in each package while the price stayed the same. By doing this, they have in effect, raised the price of the product. Secondly, it seems that the overall quality has taken a hit. The bags are visibly thinner and do not have the same durability as before. The drawstring has also been thinned out to the point where it snaps in half most of the time. I have to question why the company has tried to lower the quality of the product as they raise the price.
The product once was a high quality item. Suddenly the bad is thinner, more expensive and now came with rips down the side so that they are useless. I cannot take these to the store to replace due to injuries from an accident and the persons who generally help me are out of town. I refuse to pay shipping to buy bags off the Internet due to to companies greed. I was using a much more expensive trash bag in their place but ran out. I also tried to write this review twice and was disconnected by you both times. So my opinion of your site is not much higher than the bags.
