Pros: Bright, clear, sharp display; integrated USB 2.0 ports; accepts digital an analog inputs. Cons: N/a
I recently started a new job as a Senior Systems Analyst running the Microsoft Exchange 2003 installation for a mid-sized Mid-West financial company. Fortunately for me the new job did not entail moving; indeed the morning commute is actually ...
Pros: Excellent text and still graphics clarity. Cons: Slight color blurring in some gaming applications.
I admit it. I've been a diehard fan of CRT based monitors. As I use my computer for both business and gaming I held onto my notions of CRT=better for the past several years, avoiding the newer LCD technology and telling myself that the LCD screens ...
Pros: Great picture, excellent color, 3 year warranty and low price Cons: Stand has loose grip on head for portrait position
I have owned quite a few high-quality monitors including: -A very early 15" Emerson EGA (c.1986) -An early Viewsonic 15" (c.1994) that caught fire just out of warranty -A 17" Sony that cost around $1000 (with a refresh rate of around 125Hz at 1024 x ...
Pros: Great Display, 19" viewable area, USB Connections Cons: None that I can think of
Introduction: When I got hired on to my new job, they promised me that when I started that I would have a dual 19 Dell monitor setup. As my boss showed me my new office and system on the first day, boy was I disappointed to see drab beige ...
Pros: Excellent contrast ratio, Large screen, Easily adjustable stand Cons: Poor response time, Poor color presentation.
I bought the Dell UltraSharp 1905FP 19' a week ago. Since I also have a Princeton Senergy 714 17' LCD monitor and my computer supports dual monitor setup, so I was able to make a side-by-side comparison. Here's the result: Dell 1905FP Pro: 1. ...
Pros: Sturdy and stable design. Easily maneuverable.
Beautiful on the desk! Clear and bright picture. Cons: Not for graphic artists. Cannot handle skin tones (reds), colors, or dark darks well.
I need to write this review again. Its a great monitor, but don't get rid of your CRT if you are a designer or graphics person of any stripe. This monitor (and probably all flat panels) falls down seriously on displaying skin tones and dark areas ...
Pros: Very nice monitor with very nice looks and features.
Cons: OSD menu, must have video card with software control
The Dell 1905FP is a nice monitor with nice features. It panel quality is very sharp and clear, as it uses the same panels as the Samsung 193P, Princeton LCD19D, and Princeton VL1916, which are well known to be some of the best LCD panels out there. ...
Pros: Large, very clear and evenly lit display. Tilt/Telescopic/Swivel/rotatable stand and USB 2.0 hub Cons: It's an LCD - they only work well in their native resolution.
I wrote a review on the E193FP and gave the monitor a 'not bad' rating and claimed that the extra money for the 1905FP was 'not worth spending'. My video card supports DVI and I recently had the opportunity to plug a 1905FP into the card. I was ...
Good monitor, BAD WARRANTY POLICY by divjam ,Sep 06 '05
Pros: Easy setup, crisp display Cons: Faulty product with an unacceptable return policy
I bought the Dell 1905FP for $400 BRAND NEW. I picked the 1905FP over other monitors because it has four build in USB ports and the price was competitive. The setup for the monitor was very easy. The problem came once I started to try the USB ports. LONG STORY short (over 100 minutes on the phone) they replaced the monitor due to faulty USB ports. The replacement came a few days later. REFURBISHED was on the replacement box! I once again called Dell (50 more minutes talking to the Phillipines) to explain that I paid for a BRAND NEW monitor and not a refurbished monitor. The "manager" told me she was refusing my request and that it is DELL policy to replace new products with refurbished products!!!!
Pros: Beautiful monitor, everything but video is great. Cons: video, dvds.
I love this monitor. Every aspect of this monitor is great, except for watching videos or dvds. A previous reviewer wrote more on this subject but basically sometimes the video looks like a compressed gif file. I have been through all my video card settings and cant fix it so I believe it is as good as it is gonna get. This is not the case when viewing pictures, pictures seem to look great. This skin tones are not perfect but they are good. I play FarCry pretty often on my machine and it looks really good, my video card is a 6600gt.
Great value, excellent monitor by macdude ,Jul 13 '05
Pros: sharp, bright screen; both traditional and dvi connections; Mac compatible Cons: No real cons at this price. Direct television input would be fun.
I purchased this monitor about 3 months ago for around $325 shipped and I have been extremely pleased with the results so far. The monitor is sharp, bright, and has no dead pixels whatsoever. I have the monitor hooked up to an old power Mac (using the traditional connection) and it still looks great. When I get a box with the dvi connection, I look forward to the screen performing even better. My previous monitor was about 8 years old (but cost a fortune in its day) and the 1905FP really makes a huge difference in my computing experience. Value-wise, this is one of the best computer purchases I have made. I would definitely recommend this product over other "value" 19" monitors that might run you $50 bucks less but have dead pixels or underperform. The 1905FP exceeded my expectations. Wait for a good deal through Dell and then get it. This is an excellent product for a surprisingly small price.
Dell Ultrasharp 1905FP 19inch monitor by sybertel ,Apr 27 '05
Pros: No dead pixels. Resolution limited to 1280 X 1024. Needs more monitor screen controls Cons: Pixel size is to large, slow response time and average color chromiance and luminescence.
This is my first LCD display. I have mixed feelings about it. After examining its picture quality against my old 19 in Invar shadow mask and a brand new Samsung 19 inch Invar shadow mask, I must say that the color vibrancy is about the same. This monitor produces 16 bit color, not 24 bit color as do the dell 2001FP and the 2005WFP. If you can afford it, the 2001FP would make a better desk top display for computer use.
Pros: BIG. Bright. Good black/white contrast. Nice color saturation. Gameplay is no problem. Excellent value. Cons: Pixelation more pronounced than the best (old) CRT's (e.g., the Viewsonic P95f.. NOT the P95f+).
I stayed faithful to CRT's until the quality of the large-screen Viewsonics went downhill. So I did a lot of research, and the Dell 1905FP (Black) came up on top. Connected to my nVidia GeForce FX 5700 Ultra (digital), downloaded the right driver, and it works great! Love the 90 degree tilt.
I was initially disappointed that movement such as pull-down menus seemed staggered. Fixed that as follows:
(1) Go to 'Display Properties'-->'Appearance'-->'Effects'
(2) Unclick the first two items
(3) OK back to desktop.
Pros: Very sharp, easy to read. Cons: Minor ghosting, but probably only gamers would care.
Excellent sharpness on this monitor, one of the best that I've seen. Very easy to read and doesn't strain my eyes like some monitors tend to do. I don't game on my PC so I can't comment on that but for general use this is excellent. When combined with the Dell soundbar AS500, it's a great setup. Highly recommended.
Pros: Good looking, easy setup, USB ports, Analog and Digital inputs Cons: Lousy (read 0) setup instructions and tips for improvement.
Excellent monitor used at work every day. What prompts this review are the comments written by harpazokev. I was not comfortable using the native resolution of this monitor (1280x1024) due to the size of text. However, after using the tips mentioned by harpazokev the monitor come into it's own. I also increased the bit size to 120 which also helped even more. Now I am really impressed.
Highly recommended for non artistic user.
