I have been a collector of Beanie Babies for several years now. It all started with Righty, the Elephant that my daughter bought me because I collect Elephants. Little did she know, it would turn her usually sane mother into a nut. Before anyone jumps on me, I just collect ones I like and also buy them for my friends children to play with so I am not a person who take them from kids.
They are fun to collect and I really could care less about the value since I would not sell them, I like them and display some of them in a glass cabinet.
I have to admit, it was fun going to different McDonald's the last few years and getting the Happy Meals for this little toy. My kids knew they could always find McD food in the fridge when they were out. McDonald's will be coming out with it's fourth set in April from what I understand.
I think it's great when I read about TY giving thousands of these toys to various hospitals for sick kids. I also had a bunch of them I donated to our Police Dept for when they ran into situations where kids were involved, they could give them out.
TY also just came out with more --- the regular sized ones, the larger ones and than really BIG ones. I just bought the Signature Buddy and the Groovy Buddy, they are really pretty.
