soupcraze's Full Review: Sony MHC Stereo Mini System
Sony... When I hear the name, I think of quality. I own mostly Sony electronics. When I needed a smaller low cost system that can deliver the power of the Sony R-7000, I looked at some Sony stereos. I needed a smaller stereo to use in the basement or smaller rooms in the house. I had then come across the Sony MHC-RXD10AV. Using www.ebay.com, I was able to find one of these beauties for only $429.95.There was a 1 year warranty that I got with it, and I found the $430 for it to be incredible, here's what i found with my Sony MHC-RXD10AV:
Price:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV ranges around the $400s. You can find it as low as $400, or as high as $500 on the mark. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is truly a very high quality system that is filled with true power, and is built incredibly well. It's price is probably the best in its class. I've seen Aiwa and Phillips, but they don't compare to Sony.
Wanntanty:
I was able to get a 1 year parts&labor warranty from Sony. Truthfully, there is no warranty needed because it's such a solid and durable device. Warranties are always nice to have though; and Sony is also very trustworthy with their warranties. They take care of all problems quickly with no hassles.
FYI - What many people do at stores where they can bargain at actually cancel the warranties. Therefore the products comes out to being cheaper. I have done that a few times in the past, usually with Sony products, you can do that. You can get around ~$50 taken off the price on many stereos. It's an important choice to make... But you can really take a lot off the price.
Durablility:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is built very solid and strong. All of the components are built to last... The Sony MHC-RXD10AV will last a life time. It's a very strong companion, it's almost unbreakable.
Looks:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV looks great! It's got a very sleek and sexy look to it. It gives it a futuristic look, and a look of true power. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV will look great in any room at all, all I can say is that the Sony MHC-RXD10AV is a gorgeous device.
Quality:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is of course...a Sony. Sony makes some of the finest products around. The Sony products are built of very high quality [Japanese] components, that will make your stereo incredible. The speakers are built very well, and have great sound. Every aspect of the Sony MHC-RXD10AV is great quality, it's a true masterpiece of Japanese electronics.
Sound:
Hmmm... you don't see this too often in a boombox, but FIVE incredibly powerful speakers are built into it. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV has very powerful and top end Dolby Digital sound. Dolby pro-logic, some of the finest sound you'll ever hear. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV has excellent simulated surround sound, and INCREDIBLY powerful central sound. With no exception, the Sony MHC-RXD10AV releases superior sound. All this at around $400, Sony must have been joking!? The sound that the Sony MHC-RXD10AV produces is simply amazing. It's never static or anything, even if I jack it up to its maximum capacity. The sound is just so enriching, along with its powerful base; you can imagine yourself at a concert if you close your eyes. 270-watts of power really is amazing! Even though it's not nearly as powerful as the Sony R-?000 series, it's still excellent for a stereo of its size and price.
Bass:
Excellent base. You can feel it... If you jack the stereo to its max, you can get some great affects from the bass on this system. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV can make your entire house tremble with such powerful bass. The bass adds truly great affects to the music... adds in realism and gives you a feeling... like you're there.
Ease of Use:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is very easy to use... it may need a little getting used to for simpler stereo operators, but it's truly not a hassle to operate. I have a preference of working the system from the base, not using remote control. Everything is very easy to apply with it, it comes with a remote for use also which makes long range operations as easy as turning a light switch... well... maybe a bit tougher :-) The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is no hassle to operate, it's an excellent system that even a child can use (if they know how to use simpler stereos and electronics).
Feautures:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV has some great features that come with it which bring it above the rest. Sony has gone the extra mile to put in excellent features that you just won't find in other similar stereos. Some of these features are very helpful and really fun to have around, and some you may never use. But it's really great that Sony has put some of these features into the MHC-RXD10AV to make it one of the best stereos around:
*3-CD Changer
*5 Channels (Digital Converter)
*Twenty Total EQ Settings
*Dual Cassette DeckNOTE:Excellent for making copies of certain tapes, like me making copies of my music. Works very fast and well.
*DVD Compatibility
*Jog Wheel
*Karaoke Option
*Sleep Option
*Alarm Clock
+ More!!! :-)
The Verdict:
The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is certainly a best buy. It's worth so much, and it's so incredibly powerful. It's a true Japanese masterpiece, with very high quality components and superior sound. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV bypasses any other system in its price range, it outperforms them all. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV also comes with some feautures that you'd never expect to see on a stereo system. The Sony MHC-RXD10AV is truly a masterpiece... it's incredibly powerful, and built to amaze. The price of around $400 is truly amazing, you will not be dissapointed with it.
