Look 10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds!
Well, at least that is the claim. Let's be frank here, if you are more than a few pounds overweight this will not miraculously transform you into a luscious creature. In fact, unless you are looking to target areas like the abdomen or stomach, this bodysuit wont do anything for you except make you uncomfortable. As I have mentioned in other reviews, I am a tall person [almost six foot] and weight around 195 200 pounds but a lot of that is muscle. After a very fat childhood I lost a tremendous amount of weight and have no trouble with self image or self worth. After giving birth to the brood I still maintained a very healthy shape and still manage to turn an eye here and there. I purchased this when my regular body suit company stopped making the mid thigh version of their product. The added support of the body suit helps me when I am at the gym lifting weights and is much nicer than wearing a lifting suit [trust me those things are awful looking].
My intention with purchasing this body suit was to have something that would support me [namely my breasts] when I was at the gym. I have started to do more work on the treadmill and it usually involves starting off with a brisk walk and advances to full on running. Ive had this suit for a while now and it has been to the gum with me at least four times a week since I purchased it and is holding up nicely. The key to getting the most out of this body suit it to make sure that you purchase the correct size. Buy one too small and you will bust out the seams, buy one too big and it defeats the purpose.
What Is It?
As the name implies, this is a body suit that has the added perk of slimming out areas that may be a little bumpy. One thing to know is that this will not work miracles and if you are more than a few pounds overweight you wont benefit from this. In fact, if you try to squeeze into this you might in fact being doing yourself some harm by compacting your internal organs. Sure this might sound funny or something to joke about but it could happen. While you certainly wont die from it you could experience cramping, excessive gas, stomach aches or nausea. This goes double if you plan on wearing this for an extended period of time or while exercising. Again, you might laugh at this or think I am making a joke but Im not.
The body suit is a one piece garment that features removable straps. Now, if you have a large bust line [translation: are well endowed] you might want to skip this option regardless of how appealing it may seem. The side supports will only handle so much pressure before they buckle inwards and spill forth your ampleness [for lack of a better term]. The straps can be worn several different ways criss-crossed in the back [racer back style], standard style or as I mentioned strapless. Switching the straps isnt hard at all and once they are fastened into place they stay that way. The suit is one solid piece of material and the breast area is silky smooth and has a sheen to it where the rest of the suit is flat black. This would be great for use under a low cut dress, pants or basically any type of clothing however if you wear anything too tight you will be able to see the mid thigh lines where the suit ends. If you are looking for something that is a complete body suit, these are available for about $20.00 more but again, make sure you are purchasing the correct size when ordering.
Washing & Care
Since I take this to the gym with me three to four times a week it isnt possible to toss it in the wash each and every time I wear it but there is no way that I would wear this a second time without washing it. I toss it in the kitchen sink with a very small amount of laundry detergent and wash it by hand. Since the material used for the body suit is Lycra and nylon blend it dries quickly after it gets wringed out. If you are going to machine wash this please read the label carefully to ensure that you get the most out of this [wash in warm water, no bleach, tumble dry / low heat]. Since the straps are detachable you might want to wash this inside a garment bag to make sure that it doesnt become entangled with other items in the wash. As I said, a majority of the time I wash this in the sink but when I machine wash it I try to do so in warm water to make sure that it is completely clean and any sweat / salt residue is completely removed. If you are going to line dry this make sure you keep it out direct sunlight or it will fade.
Sizes
If you decide that this might be something that you would like to try out you have to make sure that you get the correct size. This is available in sizes from 34 B through 38 DD so if you dont fall into that range this wouldnt be a good pick for you. For those of you with breast implants I highly suggest that you try to get a cup size larger than what you normally wear since these seem to be sized a little small. The only reason I mention those with implants is that the side bones [similar to an under-wire] might rub against you and cause irritation depending on how large you are and how centered they are. Since I have been under the knife I cant advise those who were naturally blessed on sizing or fitting. My best suggestion is to only order from sites that will allow you to return this for an even exchange if you get the incorrect size. So far I havent been able to find this at a retail store
but I am still searching.
Colors
Not exactly a trendsetter in the fashion world, this is available in three colors: black, white and nude. The nude color is just a fancy pants term for light brown. Since this is only available in three colors I am half tempted to purchase a white one and see if it can be dyed blue or red. As I mentioned earlier, the manufacturer of the body suits that I normally purchased has eliminated the mid thigh version so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place where these are concerned. It would be nice if this came in gray or possibly a blend of colors but for now you are limited to the three above choices.
Things To Know
These arent cheap but on the same token they arent expensive when you look at how well they are made and the amount of use you can get out of it if properly taken care of. I paid about $30.00 for mine [plus a small shipping fee] and consider it money well spent. Sure you can pick up similar looking outfits at places like Target and Wal-Mart for about half the price but youll be getting a garment that will last on average about six months. Beside that, the generic body suits wont give you the needed protection when doing aerobics or working out. Id rather pay a little more and get something that will last, give me the support I need than to have to constantly replace it when it starts to show signs of wear.
The Bottom Line
So far this has been a great purchase for me and if you are in the market for a work out outfit or slimmer suit, this is one that I highly suggest you check out. Be sure to shop around to get the best price available and make sure that you are purchasing from a site that will allow you to make an exchange if you purchase the wrong size or the size you chose doesnt feel comfortable [too tight or too loose]. For the comfort, style, protection and quality, the MiracleSuit is a great investment for your body.
As always, thanks for the visit!
