I've used Dawn dishwashing liquid for my dishes for years. It comes in a variety of sizes and scents. I'm partial to the original blue. You can buy it at the grocery store or discount stores (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.). It's comparable in cost to other dishwashing liquids. I usually try to buy it on sale with a coupon.
At my son's first birthday party, he got colored frosting all over his clothes. I was unsure what to use to treat it because of the coloring in the frosting. My sister-in-law suggested Dawn dishwashing liquid. I figured what the heck, it was worth a try. It took it out with ease. My mom was amazed and uses it now as well.
I now keep Dawn by my washer and under my bedroom sink where I soak clothes. I also have a small bottle in my suitcase for traveling.
It's so handy to use this as a stain remover, it seems a lot of people have it on hand anyway. It saves you from spending money on expensive stain removers.
