I love the Maidenform web site. Normally, when I shop for undergarments, I find that sites run by manufacturers tend to offer their products at slightly higher prices then what I can find in a department store. With Maidenform, I find that most of the time, their prices are lower than what I can find at a brick and mortar.
Who Is Maidenform?
No doubt if you’re a female, you’ve probably owned a Maidenform product or at least browsed through what they offer at your local department store. Maidenform owns two other lines - Flexees and Lilyette. Located in New Jersey, Maidenform has been around since the mid 1920’s. Their business has and will always probably be, intimate undergarments.
Web Site Design
The way Maidenform has their web site designed, they couldn’t really make it much easier for you to get around. The home page can direct you to bras, panties, full figure, shape wear, and my very favorite – clearance. Pick any page to go look at and what you get is a picture of the product, the name of it, and a price. Open that up and you get more details about the product including available sizes, colors, and a better description which usually contains instructions on washing and what material it is made out of.
Selection
I was surprised at the wide variety of selection. It’s just as good, and sometimes better, than what you’ll get in the concrete version of a store. Many shapes, sizes, colors, and styles. You’ll find no irregular or off-quality items. Every thing here is of the same quality that you would purchase elsewhere.
Let’s Talk Clearance For A Moment
SO many times when I visit an online store with a clearance sale, they usually have lots of items in small quantities and definitely never in my size. I’ve always found Maidenform’s clearance sale to cover many shapes, sizes, colors, and styles and never have I had an issue finding at least a couple of things that would fit me.
Making A Purchase
Purchasing, unfortunately, is easy. I say that because it’s so easy to hit that add to cart button after I select the color and size I want. When you’re ready to check out, you enter all of that lovely demographic information and indicate what type of shipping you want. Before you get to the page where you enter your credit card info (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), you have a chance to plug in either your coupon code or gift certificate code.
When you finally submit your order, Maidenform sends you a confirmation email that contains a tracking number. My last order – in which I ordered 4 underwire bras (that came to a total of $43, including shipping) – arrived four business days after I placed it. Now tell me, how often can you great bras at that kind of price?!
Customer Service
I’ve never had to contact customer service because I’ve never had an issue with my orders. You can reach them via email or by calling their toll free number.
If you wish to exchange or return your item, you have up to thirty days which to do so. You cover the shipping.
Shipping rates are according to the amount of your order. Anything over $100 is always free standard shipping otherwise, you pay anywhere from $7-$9. A bit pricey by my standard. Next Day Air, Two Day Air, and Priority Mail are also available to you.
Club M
One of the neat things about the Maidenform site is that if you sign up for their free club, you can receive some nifty coupons and bargain notices via email. All they ask for is your email address and then there are some optional questions to answer regarding your lingerie buying habits. Coupons I’ve received include 20% off and free shipping. And that’s on top of what they have in clearance!
In the Club M area, you can keep track of what you’ve purchased, add things to your wish list, and view items that you’ve purchased in the past.
Uh, I Don’t Know What I Should Be Looking For?
When I first jumped into the ahem control brief genre, I wasn’t sure which kind I should get. Maidenform has a web page that helps you make a decision on what product to look at based upon what you’re wearing. For instance, if you’re wearing a business suit without a blouse, they have four different bras that they think would work for you.
Want To Visit A Brick and Mortar Store Instead?
That’s fine with Maidenform. They’ll even tell you where their product is available in the U.S. You can clip on their U.S. map, enter a city, or a zip code and they’ll list every store that sells their products, including their full address.
The End
Quality manufacturer, easy web site to navigate, and great steals/deals. You can’t go wrong signing up for notifications friends!
