| jwhowa's Full Review: Lexmark Optra E210 Laser Printer |
I have been a deskjet user for years, and finally realized that most of my printing is done in black & white, and there's nothing that handles that better than a laser printer! Being on a budget, the Lexmark seemed worth a shot, so I took it.
I must say I am VERY PLEASED with this printer. It lives up to the 12ppm claim that Lexmark makes, it's quiet, and printing is crisp and clear at 600dpi.
I have this printer networked using Windows XP, with no problems.
It handles regular letter paper, and has a "one at a time" feed capability for things like card stock or envelopes. Works very well. When you want to print a single envelope, you don't have to take out all the paper, just put the envelope in the single feed slot. You can also choose whether the printer spits out printed copy in the front or top of the unit. Nice feature depending on whether you want to pages to stack up on your desk or in the printer's tray.
So far, in 1.5 months use, I have had NO JAMS.
The toner cartridges for this printer are a little pricey, at $80 retail, but supposedly I will get 5000 prints out of a cartridge, so if that's the case, I won't be using many cartridges.
All in all, this is a great laser printer at any price, and at the $180 you can get them for, they're a steal in my opinion.
Thanks for reading! Hope this helps!
