Hot sex XXX and Polar Imperial Beer
Mar 02 '05
The Bottom Line 4 solid stars for a fine Chilean beer. Yup.
Polar Imperial Beer is the latest Schwiggling Schmuck Summary brought to by who else¿.... Your schwigging Showth American Schmuck, garym.
I sampled this beer on a hot evening in the officer´s club at the Viña del Mar Naval Base. I was with my friend Lieutenant Victor, enjoying the weather and the surroundings. The club offered a wide range of domestic and imported beers. Being always thoughtful of my Epinion readers (and Braillers where appropriate), I asked Victor for his opinion on selecting a flavorful domestic beer that I had yet to imbibe. His recommendation¿ DAH¡ Polar Imperial Beer. And so it was to be.
My Polar Imperial Beer arrived in a green bottle that raised a red flag. Green bottled beer to me signals "Heinekins" AKA "Green Death". That statement alone should indicate to you a great deal about my taste or lack of same regarding beer. Heinekins beer reminds me of menthol cigarettes or Cherry Coke. Candy áss adulturations of the real thing. Your tastes may vary. Consult your physician before ingestion.
Well, inhabitions aside (hey, isn´t that why I´m drinking this in the first place¿), I took a healthy schwig and was delighted to sense a strong, malty flavor. A brown bottle taste that not only quenched my thirst, it brought back memories of the good old days when men were men and beer made you pee a lot.
I inhaled the first bottle and nursed a second. Those of you who are now imagining garym with his multi-colored tropical shirt undone and a frosty green bottle placed to my left nipple should e-mail me immediately after to hit the VH button. You are my kind of peeps.
Anyway, the combo of two beers, plus my daily regimen of prescribed class A pharmaceuticals led to a good buzz and a few refreshing burps. The quality of burp was first class, a sign of a fine cerveza.
Details, you ask¿ I drank from the bottle, so I don´t have an opinion of the head. The body was solid, not at all watery or adulterated. The aroma was fairly strong, could have been a bit more hearty.
Not a bad beer. 4 stars from here.
Polar Imperial is produced by Austal Brewing, Punta Arenas, Chile. The world´s southern most brewery, founded in 1896.
Note: The south of Chile is heavily populated by people with German and/or Austrian heritage. It is reflected in the culture, including the beer.
