Lowest Travel Deals Online Service ~ Not Too Shabby

While trying to find hotels in Southern Florida prior to the move to Sweden, we came across Lowest Travel Deals Online Service. I figured this was a big gamble, having never heard of them.. but the last few travel sites we tried to book through had no way to enter a Swedish billing address for the credit card. Too bad for them, good news for this site. This one does realize that even Skandanavians sometimes actually know how to use the Internet...
The site is not too bad to look at with a basic white background happening. You can choose to do your searching in either English or Espaniol, and we were even able to have the prices listed in Swedish Kronens... just for skits and grins.
They cover flights, hotels, car rentals, and cruises.
We plugged in Miami, the South Beach area for our first search and were given several options rather quickly. We chose to book a room with Haddon Hall at less than half of the advertised rate on the hotel's main website. This was also less than any of the other major travel sites had listed this hotel for, for the same time period.
Giving our billing info was relatively painless. All the usual things are asked. We did have a bit of grief trying to use the debit card, but it accepted the AmEx with the Swedish billing address no problem. Go figure...
One thing I will note here is that they DO pop you with a crazy-high fee at the end. They DO let you know this before you actually send it through, but still... This added $54.71 was chalked up to Tax Recovery & Service Fees. I normally back out when I see that crap, but went ahead this time mainly because I wanted to see how realiable they were. The sacrifices I make for you people.. yeesh.
We were sent a confirmation immediately. When we arrived at the hotel, they had no record of the reservation, but did honor the pre-paid room after we showed them the confirmation we had printed out. Now whether this mix up was the fault of the hotel or Lowest Travel Deals Online Service is anybody's guess... but I lean towards it being a goof up of the hotel given how bad they turned out to be. heh.
So. Everything went smooth with Lowest Travel Deals, but I'm only giving them 3 stars and not recommending them. Why? Well, simply because of the silly outrageous booking fees they charge. If you find a killer deal on their website and think that 50 bucks is worth it, go ahead though.
