Freeride boards

The Bottom Line Get a board that fits your individual riding style
The first thing that u need to decide is what kind of snowboarding you are going to be doing. If you're going through deep powder you do not want a snowboard that is small and easier to control because you wont be going anywhere. The shorter the board the more control you will have over it. These boards are perfect for people who love going through moguls or other types of rough terrain. With a smaller board you will also be able to still go into the snowboard park and get some air of the half-pipe or a jump.
If you are instead interested in speed and carving all over the entire slope than you should go for a longer board. The longer the board the faster it is going to go. Along with the length of the board you will also have to keep in the mind how heavy you are. a light person on a long board will not be going anywhere except rolling down the side of the mountain. The same goes for a heavy person on a small board. It just is not going to work. Overall for those speed demons out there go for the longer board but make sure you are inside the optimal weight ranges of the board. If you are on the lighter side of the board it is still a possibility to get it, the problem will be that at slow speeds it will be really hard to control and getting off the lift might make you look like a fool, but that does not matter because you will be able to laugh at them while you fly right by them and make them fall down on the slope. All in all chosing a board is all about the individual preference of the rider. Basiclly though the board should be longer than normal so that you will be able to be the fastest kid on the slope.
