The Military Book Club
I joined The Military Book Club before I was deployed to Iraq. Then my wife could send the books overseas to me. Reading and sleeping are the two main pastimes when you are in country. When I was not on a mission, I was usually sleeping or reading. The Military Book Club is a good deal if you are an avid military reader. Their selection is extremely large and wide ranging. If you are looking for any military book you will more than likely find it here. I have purchased the mandatory four books and continue to remain a customer.
The site is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The site offers the customer an internal search engine. You can locate a specific book by using this feature. Furthermore the site breaks down the many areas of military genres in order to make it easier for the customer to locate something in particular. Here are some of the genres that the books are broken down into; Air Warfare, Ancient/Medieval Warfare, Anti-Terrorism, Best Sellers, Cold War, Elite Forces, Ground Warfare, Military Fiction, Military Skills, Naval Warfare, Snipers, Vietnam War and World Wars. This is just a general overview of the areas that are offered, there are many more. Their database of books is very extensive and broken down so that its very easy for the customer to find what they are looking for. The site also lists the books of the month as well as the Editors picks.
Membership Agreement
The membership is agreement is straight up with no hidden fees or expenses. You pay .98 cents for your first four books. You are also charged $12.06 for Shipping. So you pay $13.04 for your first four books. Of course you are able to choose which four books you would like. Now you have two years to purchase four more books at regular club prices. The club prices are generally $16.99 per hard cover book. The shipping is $4.99 for the first item and $2.19 for additional books. My orders have always arrived in good shape and in a timely manner. I receive my books within seven business days. Should your books arrived damaged they can be returned within ten days and new books will be sent. The Military Book Club also has a Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not happy with the book for any reason just return the book within ten days for a full refund
My Final Thoughts on The Military Book Club
The Military Book Club is ideal for someone who reads an abundance of military books. I fall into this category so I enjoy the club for several reasons. First off their selection is phenomenal. I have never seen a larger selection of military books anywhere. Their prices are reasonable. You can join and get your first four books for just $13.04, then purchase four more for $16.99 plus shipping. If you buy your books all at the same time, you get them at a pretty fair price. I have figured it out for myself. If I purchased eight books at my Post Exchange, it would cost me $14.99 for each hard cover book, for a total of $119.92 On the other hand if I purchased the same eight books from The Military Book Club at the same time, it would run me $92.56 Furthermore I do not pay taxes at a Post Exchange. So the savings for a civilian would be even more with The Military Book Club.
Now after you fulfill your contract, is it worth it to continue shopping at The Military Book Club? That would all depend on how many books you order at once from the club. I continue to shop at The Military Book Club because of the selection and the convenience of shopping online. I have never been big on going shopping for anything. I prefer to shop on the Internet where I can browse the many genres for as long as I like. The Military Book Club also offers the customer specials, sales and bargains on many books. I find The Military Book Club to be a valuable source of books for me. As a student of military history, I am very satisfied with this book club. There are an abundance of books for the military historian on the site as well. If you are looking for a military book, odds are, you can find it at The Military Book Club. Here is a sample of some of the current best sellers;
American Soldier By General Tommy Franks
Gun Digest 2005 By Ken Ramage
Hunting Down Saddam By Robin Moore
In The Company Of Soldiers By Rick Adkinson
The Battle Of The Bulge By Peter Tsouras
Delta Force Founder & Commander By Retired Colonel Charlie Beckwith
Recondo LRRPS - 101st, Vietnam By Larry Chambers
Although the prices are a little high if you decide to buy more than the original eight books, I still like the site. The selection is as good as it gets. The shipping is fast, and the site is very easy to navigate. Your account lets you know everything that you, the customer, needs to know about your account. Your account lets you see your balance and how many mandatory books that you have left to purchase. You also have a wish list if you choose to add anything for a later purchase. Your satisfaction is guaranteedor your money back. I have never had to use the customer service but there are e-mail addresses and phone numbers provided for the customer. If The Military Book Club was a bit less expensive, it would be perfect. As it is, I give The Military Book Club four of five stars.
Thanks for the read,
