My rating... (Reply to this comment)
by CindyJean
I'm sorry for this low rating, but I didn't feel this review was helpful.
This category is for the programming on NBC, not one specific program. If you had actually reviewed a program that was on NBC that it might be somewhat helpful.
As it is, this review is on a program not even on NBC, as it's a European show. Your information about the NBC show is not even from personal experience.
There is probably a section of the Writer's Corner where this review would be better suited, but in this space I don't find it helpful.
Sincerely,
CindyJean

You seem to've got your facts a bit mixed up (Reply to this comment)

There are at least four versions of the show.
British tea-time version: initially 9 (not 8) contestants and 3 (not 2) minutes on the clock, play starts with the alphabetically first name, money in a round goes from £20 to £1,000, overall jackpot £10,000, money trebled in eighth round.
British evening version: as tea-time version, but quintuple the prize money. I'm not sure why they have the two versions, nor why they play them two on different sets.
Another version I saw once or twice: similar to the regular evening version, but only seven players (and correspondingly seven correct answers makes the round maximum).
American version (yes, they show it over here occasionally): initially 8 contestants, 2:30 minutes (?) on the clock, play starts with the first person in order around the semicircle, money in a round goes from $1,000 to $125,000, overall jackpot $1M (don't ask me why they're so much bigger over there), money doubled in seventh round.
I presume that you people across the pond are shown our version occasionally as well?
Stewart.

..she wants putting down really (kidding, before people write and accuse me of cruelty to game show presenters). It drives me SPARE when she interrupts everyone during Watchdog.

...who gave constructive criticism (and also thanks to those who liked the review, despite the missing bit).
I have now updated the review to include the show's premise - I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Kate
PS - this is what epinions is supposed to be all about - fab!

Thanks for the additional information (Reply to this comment)

I have re-rated to Helpful. I think more information about the American version is needed to reach VH, but the information you added about the premise of the show improved the review immensely.

I hope you don't mind the suggestion... (Reply to this comment)

Not everyone who reads your review will be familiar with the concept of the show (or for book reviews, the premise of the book, etc.). It's helpful to have a bit of a summary of what it is that you're reviewing.

Didn't get any sense of what this show is (Reply to this comment)

from your review. Also, although the idea of comparing the two versions is interesting, you left off the information about the American version several times. If you chose to enhance this review, let me know and I'll rerate.

Last night... (Reply to this comment)

was my first time seeing this "game show". Like anything it had its good and bad points. The hostess tried far too much to be cruel---the trying just made it unbelievable. I also question the choice in contestants as you could tell from round one who was "smart" and who was "the weakest link(s)".
Well written---enjoyed the insights from abroad.
