| mamacat05's Full Review: Eureka Bagless/Cyclonic Whirlwind Vacuums |
I purchase this vacuum cleaner because my trusted Eureka had died, bit the dust, went to the great vacuum in the sky. But this time I wanted something light, easy to use, would suck up ALL the dirt, cat and dog hair, and have hepa filters so that I would not have to mess with those nasty refill bags.
I got mine at Home Depot and it was on sale so I only paid $159.00. When I arrive at the store I told the saleswomen exactly what I was looking for and was shown three vacuum cleaners, and I was allowed to try it out each vacuum cleaner. That is very important for me, as I need to know if I can push it with one hand. I am one handed and use my legs a lot due to nerve damage and arthritis. I was able to push the Eureka with one hand, okay that is a plus, then I saw all the extra attachments and a 25 foot long cord which would be great for my long trailer.
Now will it vacuum? You should have seen the saleswomen eyes when I took out a Ziploc bag full of cat and dog hair and placed on the carpet she wanted me to vacuum. With twelve cats and two dogs this was important to me. And I proceed to vacuum, and it sucked up dog and cat hair, dirt, and tried to eat the rug. I was sold at this point this was the dirt sucker I needed.
The extra attachments are the true hepa filters that prevent 99% of the pollen, nasty particles, and pet hair from being recycled back into the same room I was trying to get it out from. The tall handle is tall enough for me, and I am 5’9, no bending, that is good if you have a bad back. The on-board attachments included a crevice cleaner, upholstery brush and a 2-˝ foot long extension rod to reach high places. The tube that is on the vacuum cleaner that the nasty stuff travels though from the floor to the canister is clear so you can tell quickly where it is block if it gets blocked. The canister is easy to remove to empty and easy to clean.
So home I went with my new vacuum cleaner. I was excited to try it and I needed to vacuum so I proceed to do this. It was easy to get out of the box and to assembly it was even easier. All I did was attach the onboard hose and screw down the handle. Put the hepa filters in place and go.
Now the test, I plug it in, turn it on and proceed to vacuum. I had to stop twice in the Living Room to empty the canister. And I was thinking oh my the house was real dirty.
I sucked a lot of pet hair and dirt. I use the crevice tool around the baseboards and I did not even have to bend over or kneel down to do this chore. It was so easy. I was able to push with just my left hand and that was nice for a change, I do not have to use my leg to push it. I use the upholstery brush on the furniture and suck all the pet hair that was on the furniture. I just went through the whole house and vacuum anything and everything that could be vacuum. I had to stop frequently to empty the canister, as there was a lot of pet hair to be picked up. When I was done as I walk though the house I could not believe how cleaner it looked and how it did not have that dusty look it usually has.
I was very very pleased with the results and have had this vacuum cleaner for about a year now. I knew when it was time to change the hepa filters as it stop picking up as good as it did. I did have to order them directly from Eureka, as I could not find them anywhere. But that is the only bad thing about this vacuum cleaner.
