Overall, newegg.com simply rocks!
I recently went on a excursion to upgrade my DIY computer after getting into overclocking. I would not recommend this to anyone that does not have time and money to play around, as once you start you are constantly in search of better benchmarks. However, if you do decide to go down this same path, be sure to become familiar with the folks over at Newegg.com, as they will be your best friend in terms of price, delivery, and customer service.
My personal introduction
I had bought my own memory at pricewatch.com quite a while back, and since I wanted a new motherboard with BIOS support for overclocking my new 2.66GHz P4, I went out and viewed reviews of boards at various sites. I decided that I wanted to get an IS7-E from Abit for a lot of reasons, all of which can be found here:

Once I decided on the board, I went back to Pricewatch.com and the best price was this place called newegg.com, so I thought I would check it out.
Selection
I swung over to the website, and oh my lord did they have a good selection of parts, pieces, and components! I found the board I wanted right away, and so I ordered it. Along the way I noticed that they had pretty much every type of component available for a computer you could ever want, so I bookmarked it and decided to come back when I had some more time.
Payment
Newegg.com accepts all major forms of credit cards, checks, money orders, and COD. They do not accept offset payments, and no business PO's or international payment. I found the online form to be intuitive and easy, but then again I have bought many, many items online in the past few years. Even so, I do not think anyone would have any issue with their secure checkout system. I entered my credit card number, address, and other pertinent information and I was on my way.
Delivery
When I did the secure checkout on newegg, it said that I could get free FedEx supersaver shipping, and that my package would arrive 3 to 7 days later. I also received a prompt email letting me know that my item was shipped, what the tracking number was, and sent me a separate invoice with my invoice and customer service information.
To my surprise, my package showed up in Eastern Montana in less than two days! I didn't even have time to check the tracking number, as I wasn't really expecting it for another day, at the least. What I have found in subsequent orders is that the longest I have had to wait was 3 days, and that is amazing for free shipping! You could pay a premium for 2 day, but for me it would get here in the same amount of time, so why?
Let it be known that Newegg.com is located in La Puente, California, so if you are on the east coast you may have an extra day on the delivery. But even then, it is still superfast.
My second, third, fourth, and fifth orders
CPU
Now I had the board of my dreams, and thanks to newegg.com it showed up on time and in perfect packaging. I set to overclocking my computer, and soon realized I wanted to upgrade to a new processor. I *NEEDED* to get an 800MHz FSB CPU from Intel in order to get the higher bandwidth and thus higher scores on sissoft sandra and the like!
Back to newegg.com...
I found the CPU. I ended up with a 2.6GHz as it was actually cheaper than the 2.4Ghz. I could still probably get up to 1GHz FSB with it, so why not? I bought it, it was shipped, and again arrived in perfect condition in less than two days flat! I installed and was running very high FSB's overnight! Thanks Newegg!
Case and fans
I had seen some stuff on the internet about modded cases that had windows in the side panels and tops, and I thought I should do that to mine. Also, with a window I could add some more fans with the LED's in them and increase the coolness factor as well as decrease the thermal load in my case.
Back to Newegg....
I found the window kit I wanted, which was $25. However, as I was searching I also found pre-modded cases with the windows and fans already built in. The fans came with some cool spiderman fan shrouds, and it was only $29. Why not?
I also found the supercooler case fan with blue LED. I only thought I *NEEDED* 4, but at $8/fan, that would cost me $32. I bought 10 for $45 and got the quantity discount and sold the rest on ebay! Great deal!
Once again, my case and fans showed up in three days, all perfectly packaged and with the freebies (pens, paperweights) that newegg throws in.
Now I had a cool looking case with a screaming processor and motherboard. What more could you want?
Memory
I had PC2700 memory which was holding back my processor. I *NEEDED* more! I did some reasearch on the web and found the memory I wanted, and this time it was Corsair PC4000PRO, TwinX pack of 2X512MB XMS memory. I have done a review on this, as well:

The memory arrived in three days and I plugged it in and... it didn't work
Customer Service
The customer service at this vendor is wonderful. I sent an email in with my original invoice number and the complaint. They issued me an RMA via email very shortly and I sent the memory back, with tracking, of course.
I received an RMA status within one day of Newegg recieving the return. I also received the subsquent notice of shipment, tracking and new invoice. The memory arrived, I plugged it in, and I was screaming again!
Their policy is a 30-day return policy, which I can understand with the high tech equipment. Before returning anything, please make sure that you get an RMA#, as they will not accept items without this!
Overall
I have done a lot of shopping online, and most recently in the computer area. There are a lot of shady dealers out there, and even some that are bigger are not too good to deal with.(More on that in another review) I have had wonderful experiences with Newegg.com, and I would recommend anyone who is looking for hard to find computer parts, or even easy to find computer parts at a great price, to shop here.
I still check around to ensure that it is the best price, but I would probably give up a small amount of cash to deal with Newegg.com in the future. And that is saying alot...
