I have quite the serious jewelry addiction. Most everything that I own is 14kt gold. I enjoy the color against my skin and buy everything from a local Jeweler and most are custom made one of a kind pieces.
About a month ago I bought a cute summer dress that shimmers blue with silver buckles. I cried to my boyfriend that I didn’t have any jewelry to wear with it since I had given my sister all of my silver. He just didn’t understand why gold wouldn’t work with this outfit…
But yet again he surprised me with this beautiful necklace from Ileana Creations, an Italian Company. He still hasn’t told me where he bought it (I think he doesn’t want me to know it cost $125.00). Little did he know that he was buying Swarovski crystals. If you aren’t going to buy real stones, Swarovski is the best replacement.
A little about Swarovski:
I guess you really are wondering what is so special about Swarovski compared to other “cheaper” crystals. Well like I said earlier I don’t buy crystal jewelry I generally buy authentic stones. Let me put a Swarovski crystal and a generic cheap crystal in your hand and no doubt in my mind you will pick the good out.
They sparkle more they are cut with a magic precision and therefore catch the light and color radiates from every angle.
My Necklace
Well I opened this box the morning of the wedding we were attending and to my surprise was this beautiful silver necklace again by Ileana. He also got plain silver hoops and a bracelet. The beauty of this necklace and the design took my breath away. The Light Blue Crystals are set in a cascading 4 prong 5 tear setting. Which means they are basically stacked in a row lengthwise with a little bar between each crystal.
The color of the stones is the bluest of light blue. When in good natural light there is actually a rainbow effect.
The chain of the necklace (which I promise no one has even noticed thanks to the radiant crystals) is a basic box chain with a lobster claw clasp.

I must say I am so pleased with this necklace, it’s a shame I don’t own more blue clothing. (I have an olive complexion and the color just doesn’t work well on me) Needless to say I will be buying more.
