Pros: amazing animation, solid character art design (except for Casey, April and Splinter) Cons: cliche-ridden plot, lacks good snappy banter, predictable
In the end, TMNT is part of the abundance of Hollywood revivals that should have been left dead. Despite the incredible new CG form, this movie is targeted solely to the young 7-12 year old audience group. Folks that grew up on TMNT and are looking for ...
Pros: Great Animation (CGI), Good Plot, Respects the History of the Turtles Cons: Main Enemy Dies Too Easy, Foot Clan Teams with Turtles, No Theme Song!
One of my favorite childhood cartoons has finally made it back to the big screen! It's way, way better than the original live action films. From the intro to the credits, if you like action and a little humor...you'll be entertained. I went to the ...
Pros: Really good animation and action scenes Cons: Less than an hour and a half, convoluted plot
It's been some 14 years since the last live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was released. The pizza loving, crime solving, half shell reptiles have been hiding in the sewers it seems. Though there have been a few different cartoon series ...
Pros: good action scenes, nice to see a charecter devlopment in Raph and Leo Cons: I wouldent' mind seeing more in Don, Mikey, and Karai.
When I was a kid I was like most kids in the early 90’s a big fan of the ninja turtles and of the ninja turtles live action movies that had the turtles being giant Muppets made by Jim Henson’s studios. Fast forward to today and I just went and saw the ...
Pros: good story, very character driven for a so-called action flick Cons: overly stylized look, really depends on prior knowledge of the teenage mutant ninja turtles
It's been years since I've seen the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in any format, but I loved them as a teenager. I decided to check out the new movie for some modernized retro fun. The evil villain Shredder is dead. Leonardo's off finding himself under ...
Pros: Great conflict between Leonardo and Raphael; upbeat punk rock songs; some laughs Cons: Sarah Michelle Gellar is underutilized; dark undertone ruins the laughs and spoofy nature
After the defeat of nemesis Shredder, the Turtles have split up. Leader Leonardo (James Arnold Kelly) now resides in South America by orders of Master Splinter (Mako), Donatello (Mitchell Whitfield) is tech help, Michaelangelo (Mikey Kelly) entertains ...
Pros: It's the Turtles! Cons: Very, very disjointed
Let’s be clear about this: The recent reincarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is NOT the same as the Turtles you and I grew up watching. Not in the movies or on the tube. It’s very fitting, however, because the Turtles who conquered the world ...
Pros: Beautiful animation, great soundtrack, action-packed Cons: The story takes it for granted that moviegoers are existing Turtles fans.
It has been several years since mainstream media has heard from the world's most hip reptilian ninjas, but 2007's TMNT has them coming back to the big screen with quite a splash. This computer animated movie is a comedic, action-packed adventure ...
Pros: Action, GREAT family story, LOTS OF RAPHAEL and NIGHTWATCHER!!! Cons: Okay monster story subplot thingy, not enugh Mike or Don, Mike's portrayed TOO immature
I am a huge fan and this movie was made FOR fans BY a FAN. The turtles are characterized more accurately here, but rely a bit on their stereotypes of Raph being angry, Leo the leader and his 'do what i say' mentality, Mike being silly and Don the geek. ...
Pros: excellent story, fight scenes and dialogue Cons: nothing other then Sarah Michelle Gellar as April
In this movie is the return of the lean, green, fighting machines that we know as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But this time instead of being live-action they are CGI characters. I like these turtles better because the movie company can’t mess ...
Pros: Interesting to watch,
Good Animation and
In classical TMNT style Cons: Too much drama and No famous turtles song
New Era of Turtles is coming with this interesting and nice film. Beautiful animation makes you fall into the life of TMNT. For some it is a chance to get back to the childhood and enjoy this cool atmosphere of emotional TMNT experience which can not be ...
Good but still not the original comic version... by frimples ,Mar 28 '07
Pros: Amazing animation. More mature than the TV Show. OK writing and Patrick Stewart. Cons: PG rating holds back the action potential and keeps it from representing the original comic.
TMNT the movie was great. The animation is spectacular and they are definitely more "grown up" than in the TV Cartoon version. The turtles individual personalities are more clearly defined in this movie, setting up a dynamic for better drama in any sequels in the pipeline.
I enjoyed the animation and writing was good, though I wished that the basic plot of "the brothers having split-up and having to reconnect as a team" could have been covered in the first half an hour leaving more time for "fun".
My only real complaint is that these turtles are not the turtles from my childhood. I read the comics and played the Pen and Paper TMNT role-playing game before the TV show came out. So I don't feel like I've seen my TMNT on screen yet (though the original turtles would be a rated R "Kill Bill" style movie so I'm pretty sure it will never happen).
Yeah! The Turtles are Back! by donkeykong1973 ,Apr 05 '07
Pros: Animation. Action. There were the Turtles! Great
Movie. Cons: Predictable.
Since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles haven't been heard of very recently, besides the movie TMNT of course, this is very good. I really loved the movie. Even though it was predictable throughout some parts of the movie, and that the ending was sort of quick. Other than those points, it is a great movie. I would definitely recommend seeing it because if you loved Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo, and Donatello before, your gonna love them now!
