Hotel Adler

Stayed at the Adler in May 2004 and it was an excellent choice for our first visit to Zurich. Normally book a four-star and the Adler is rated as three, though I'd seen lot's of very positive reports before my booking. But, also had some apprehension ...

Pros: great location, nice room and staff, good food
Cons: perhaps not the place if you want a giant formal room

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Adler in the summer of 2002, and we loved it. The room was very modern and clean and the people at the hotel were wonderful. The room was plenty big for 2 people but we may have wanted a larger room if we had kids and i don't know what they have available for families... With the windows open there was a fair amount of noise from the cafes on the street below but with them closed it was fine...
We especially loved the location -- in the center of the old part of Zurich, with tons of restaurants and things nearby. We were happy not to stay in the more modern part of town where the major shops and banks are located.
We also really liked their breakfast (but we ate elsewhere for other meals)...
