Pros: Super comfortable, great fit, nice shape Cons: Couldn't use this one for jogging but I am not going jogging anytime soon anyway
I am nursing my third child and decided to treat myself to a variety of nursing bras to find the ones I liked best. My hands down favorite was the Bravado nursing bra for overall comfort and style. THE STYLE Let's face it. The shift from regular ...
Pros: Wide range of sizes, Comfortable, Stylish Fabric choices, Coordinating undies and PJs available Cons: Not enough support or shaping in larger sizes for my personal preference
Bravado Nursing Bras seem to be the holy grail of nursing bras in many mothering groups. When David was born, I knew very little about breastfeeding and had only the bare basics of information to go on but I knew about Bravado Nursing ...
Pros: easy access, soft material Cons: no support, band permanently folds & rolls up, material loses its elasticity
I too purchased this bra due to recommendations from my lactation support group. The concept is great, however, only for small busted woman. I went from a C to G cup and looked like I wasn't wearing a bra at all! Additionally, the bra does not hold up ...
Pros: Comfy cotton - maybe the most comfortable bra you'll ever wear; sensible, wide rib band Cons: Wrinkly look across chest; fabric creases may show through clothing; difficult to undo nursing snaps
I have wanted one of these for months, but the price kind of gave me pause. It's not much more than a regular bra, but frankly, I buy almost all my clothes used, so spending more than $5 for anything runs counter to my nature. However... now ...
Pros: Great for maternity use as well as nursing. Cons: Not 100% support, a good sleep bra
I like this for comfort. I started this pregnancy at a 38D and I am more than half way through and am now at a 42DD and still growing. When I had my daughter I had reached a 44DDD. As a big chested woman I needed something to fit not really look good. Then I tried this nursing bra. It is great I am using it right now as a maternity bra then it will be a nursing bra post baby. The snaps seem like it will be easy to open and close to nurse and the support is good but not a great as some other bras I had tried.
Pros: Comfortable Cons: Hard to fit, difficult to do/undo snaps, not very supportive and complimentary under clothes
I purchased the Bravado Maternity/Nursing Bras, as they seemed like the most popular brand on the market. They are adequate, but not great. The construction makes it very comfortable and the cotton fabric is good too. I wore it before my baby was born too. However, I find the snaps hard to do and undo with one hand. Especially when you're dealing with a crying baby with the other hand. Also, the sizing is very generalized, so it's hard to get a perfect fit. If I buy to fit my underbust, the cups are too big. They don't come in the usual band size-cup size combinations like other bras. I wore the Bravado bras a lot more when my baby was first born. Now that I am wearing my regular clothes, I find they are not as supportive and complimentary like the other bras out there. More and more I find myself wearing the Warner's nursing bra.
Not so great if you're petite by lilylilac ,Aug 11 '05
Pros: Online store and variety of colors Cons: Shoulder straps not adjustable enough. Returns from bravadodesigns.com must be shipped to Canada.
I had heard great things about these nursing bras and followed their sizing recommendation on their website. I'm a 34C and 5'1", according to their website I should wear the S size. I tried the bras on and the shoulder straps don't allow for an adjustment to fit my frame, however, if I could adjust the shoulder straps, the cups would come right up under my armpits (not comfortable and not terribly attractive).
Pros: I really can't think of any. Cons: No support, band rolls, cold snaps, useless secondary straps, won't hold a nursing pad.
When I was pregnant I researched EVERYTHING to try to find the best items (from crib to stroller to bra) and everybody seemed to love these bras. So I ordered one, a Double Plus for extra support. It's now my least favorite bra and I won't even wear it to sleep.
My problems with it:
NO support. I'm a 40D and the bra just lets me flop. It doesn't give a good line under clothing and if I were stuck with this bra, I'd have stopped nursing a year ago.
Not good for nursing pads. I am still wearing nursing pads after a year and without a cup, there's nothing to hold the pads with.
Annoying little auxiliary straps. They have stupid little straps that slide off your shoulders and distract the baby.
Cold metal snaps. I find the snap area to be uncomfortable and the metal snaps very cold, especially on a chilly night.
The bottom band rolls and has from the beginning.
I just don't like this bra. Maybe you need to be flat-chested to appreciate it. I'm not and I don't.
Pros: soft, comfy, stylish Cons: expensive, band rolls up
I definitely think Bravado deserves the reputation it has as one of the best bras for us nursing moms BUT there are a few things that really lack! The band rolls up on my bras and the thing looks pretty sad after nursing only one year. I hoped for better wear and tear. The style is great but it looks so sorry now that I don't wear it out. It's just my house bra. I spent some time on ebay one day and ended up trying a new sports bra on the market and liked it more. Overall: Bravado is good but do shop around and try others.
Bravado Bras are awesome!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by nancybrom ,Oct 29 '04
Pros: Comfy, wonderful, easy to snap/unsnap Cons: May not be supportive enough to do high-impact exercise (I haven't tested this though)
I have a wide "gap" between my breasts and I tried on at least 20+ nursing bras at "regular" stored. When I went to the breastfeeding store, Maternal Instincts, the lactation consultant/owner recommended Bravado and I love them! They are easy to snap/unsnap with one hand and I even wear them to sleep.
Pros: Soft material
straps do not cut into your shoulders
razerback feature Cons: Not supportive for bustier women
Snaps come undone when you shorten the straps
I agree with the main reviewer that this is a very comfortable bra. The fabric is soft, the straps do not cut into your shoulders, and the razerback is very nice. Here's my but, and it's a big one:
It is NOT very supportive and the snaps come undone if you try to shorten the straps to make it more supportive.
I think this is a great bra for sleeping, but I would NOT recommend it for day wear due to it's lack of support.
