World-Class Service makes you feel like a V.I.P.

My company uses AMEX Business Travel Center to book all of our company travel, and I am very impressed. The service was wonderful, and the staff are extremely Knowledgeable in the field. They always have destination information and maps included in my ticket pack, and I have always had a positive experience with them.

Not just bad service -- no service!!!

We have been trying to give 1/2 million dollars worth of business to American Express Travel for 3 months now! We have had to badger them just to get a conference call explaining their services. When we asked if our representative (business development manager) could come and do a presentation to the top dogs - she said "we don't do in person presentations". Funny how every time I call she is out of town. Where? I thought they just did conference calls? Then we waited for another 2 weeks for an email with the information we talked about over the phone (which was supposed to come that day) - oh and don't think it came easily, only after 3 or 4 messages requesting it again. What is the deal!? Have they gotten so big that they don't need the money anymore? There is no doubt that they are lacking in competition - but come on!

Bad service - watch out!

American Express travel screwed me up. I purchased a roundtrip ticket in March 2008. On my departure date, May 22, 2008, I was at the Delta counter and found out that Delta was missing the ticket number from Amex travel. I called Amex travel to get the number, found out that somebody there screwed up and didn't send the confirmation to Delta. The lady at Amex travel instructed me to buy a new ticket at the counter and amex travel will reimburse the fare. This new fare is about 4 times more expensive than the original fare.
After I got back, I tried to get back with this issue with Amex travel. American Express travel denied everything they said and they said they have no prove.
I realize now that I was trapped by American Express travel. So, watch out when purchasing ticket with them! I tried to call them to explain (it is now almost one year) and they really didn't care of the situation. It was their mistake and they are trying to hide it.
